Safety At Design Stage:
The safe design for the facilities shall be achieved by using the results of the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Report and good all industry safety engineering practice as demonstrated by the following Regulations and international codes and standards. Safety shall be the engineering and design activity aimed at minimizing risk and damage to personnel and equipment during operations throughout the system. Personal protection shall be provided in the facilities to safeguard personnel from any danger during operation and maintenance. The engineering design and construction of the plant shall ensure inherent safety by paying attention to the following:
Plant layout
Fire and Gas detection
Drains
Closed locked doors and warnings signs, with panic exit bars
Fire and Safety Equipemnt
Personnel protection
Noise Control Noise
Limits for working environment shall be specified taking into account the results of a project noise study, and the location of equipment and its acoustic environment. Personnel hearing protection shall only be used where engineering methods of noise control are not cost effective or reasonably practicable.
